What I Got Up To This Month (March '25)

And that was March. All in all a pretty uneventful month for me, but I suppose that's not a bad thing. I've been making some progress with my therapist and that feels good. Still not necessarily as far along as I'd have liked to be by this point in the year, but I'll take what I can get. I feel like it'll be a pretty short update this month, if I'm being honest, because most of my time was spent playing some very long games that I've already written about (or plan to write about in more detail).

I've been so focused on other games these past few weeks that it completely slipped my mind that, oh yeah, I also played an obscene amount of Monster Hunter Wilds this month! What a game. It has its issues and I think I may prefer the older style of Monster Hunter games (from the little I've played of Rise, anyway), but as this was the first Monster Hunter I've finished, I loved it. I got very into this game and had an excellent time. It doesn't run great and the visuals can be muddy at times, but man is Monster Hunter fun.

I played a loooot of Death Stranding this month. I started this game back when it came out but dropped it (for a number of reasons). With the sequel on the way I thought I'd pick it back up and I'm glad I did. I'm just about at the end of it, I think, and I'll probably do a writeup about in the near future. I've got some complicated thoughts on this game that I still need to fully work through, and I imagine the ending, when I get to it, will only further complicate things.

I mentioned it earlier, but I played another Yakuza game this month. This time, it was Yakuza 3. Specifically, the PS4 remaster (played on my PS5). I really liked the game. I think its main plot is flawed, but the side characters and vibes of the game were great. I really enjoyed seeing a more relaxed side to Kiryu.

I was a bit disappointed that (the current version of) Yakuza 3 Remastered doesn't have the Don Quijote music, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there is apparently a Fortnite collaboration of sorts with the brand. I don't get why it exists either, but I got to play Prop Hunt while listening to the music on loop and that was pretty fun.
